This makes the final instalment 15 minutes longer than its predecessor The Dark Knight.

The movie theatre chain also unveiled plans for a Dark Knight marathon on the evening of July 19. A number of AMC cinemas will show Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in advance of the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.

Last night (June 3), Nolan was joined by Gary Oldman, Christian Bale and Joseph Gordon-Levittto present a new clip from The Dark Knight Rises at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

A short montage of the previous films aired before the new clip, bringing Bale to tears when he saw the late Heath Ledger as the Joker.

“It’s a great moment to remember Heath,” he told the audience.
