Lance Armstrong just chilling …

And the plot thickens …

Now THIS is a finely-honed troll move. Over the weekend, the above photo showed up in Lance Armstrong’s Twitter feed, accompanied by the message “Back in Austin and just layin’ around … “

Armstrong is, of course, reclining oh-so-casually in front of the seven Tour de France jerseys he won. Those jerseys represent the seven Tour de France victories that the International Cycling  Union stripped from him following the investigation and documentation of  what the United States Anti-Doping Agency called “the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.” Armstrong was also served with a lifetime ban from cycling events overseen by the USADA, and his 2000 Olympic bronze medal is now under investigation.

Obama – Romney debate talking about Horses and Bayonets

That was a hilarious retort and comeback from Obama. I mean I started to laugh out loud.

Monday night’s final presidential debate didn’t break any social-media records—but it did provide what many on Twitter felt was a delightfully ridiculous moment.

Total Twitter activity around the debate was the lowest of the three presidential debates, with 6.5 million tweets over the course of 90 minutes. (The first debate saw 10.3 million tweets, while the second saw 7.2 million.) The most tweeted moment was President Barack Obama’s retort to Romney’s attack about the decreasing size of the U.S. military: “We also have fewer horses and bayonets,” Obama said.
The campaigns were paying attention: After the debate, the Romney campaign purchased the promoted tweet for the hashtag #horsesandbayonets while the Obama campaign purchased the promoted tweet around searches for “bayonets.”

Clothing giant Gap has pulled a controversial T-shirt off its warehouse shelves after outraged consumers lashed out via social media

The simple, dark-blue T-shirt with “MANIFEST DESTINY” printed on it in stark white letters was part of the “Gap x GQ” collection, a joint effort between Gap and GQ Magazine to showcase America’s best new designers.

While it might be nice to think that it’s some sort of inspirational mantra, maybe based on The Law of Attraction—Create your own life path! Manifest your destiny!—as McNairy and the PR department of Gap, Inc., have learned, “Manifest Destiny” actually refers to the mid-19th century mindset that white Americans had a divine obligation to claim as much of the continent as possible for themselves, slaughtering and oppressing native people in the process.

The term was coined in 1845 by John O’Sullivan, a newspaper editor at the Democratic Review, who wrote that the United states should annex Texas and claim the Oregon Country because “that claim is by the right of our manifest destiny to overspread and to possess the whole of the continent which Providence has given us for the development of the great experiment of liberty and federated self-government entrusted to us.” It also was used to justify the idea that people with darker skin were “heathen,” “backwards,” and otherwise less than human.

Why do people attack her race/heritage and background ? Some people are really retarded.

Actress Stacey Dash was attacked with negative tweets after voicing her support of Mitt Romneyon Twitter over the weekend. Many comments were racially charged and others suggested the star of the 1990s hit ‘Clueless’ should just “kill herself.”
One man wrote, “This hurts, but you a Romney lover and you slutting yourself for the white man only proves why no black man would marry u.” Another Twitter user said: “She’s an indoor slave, you know that, sis.” Many tweetsexpressed disbelief that a woman of African American heritage would vote for anyone but Obama, and some suggested that her account must have been hacked.

Congratulations to the Valenzuelan people for showing the rest of the world how Democracy works.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — President Hugo Chavez won re-election and a new endorsement of his socialist project Sunday, surviving his closest race yet after a bitter campaign in which the opposition accused him of unfairly using Venezuela’s oil wealth and his near total control of state institutions to his advantage.
A long wait for the results produced high tensions, including a Twitter hashtag called BitingNails that became the most popular in the country. Finally, fireworks exploded over downtown Caracas amid a cacophony of horn-honking by elated Chavez supporters waving flags and jumping for joy outside the presidential palace.
With 90 percent of votes counted, Chavez had more than 54 percent of the vote to 45 percent for challenger Henrique Capriles, an athletic 40-year-old former state governor who unified and energized the opposition while barnstorming across the oil-exporting nation.

I wonder if Obama feels lucky ?

Consider him un-unforgiven? President Barack Obama shrugged off Clinton Eastwood’s memorable Republican National Convention performance in part of a USA Today interviewpublished Sunday, declaring: “I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan.”
“He is a great actor, and an even better director,” the president told the paper aboard Air Force One on Saturday. “I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.

Lance Armstrong gives up fight against USADA, raising questions about his innocence – Yahoo! Sports

Lance Armstrong gives up fight against USADA, raising questions about his innocence – Yahoo! Sports.

He is a fraudster and a cheat and should be thrown in prison for lying, cheating and fraud for selling books and fake hopes and dreams. But he gave people hope. But imagine the devastation that it will cause for people that know that their hero was a fraud. There are countless unknown heroes out there that don’t go around making millions while using steroids.
In the end, Lance Armstrong quit. And no matter how fiercely he writes his statements or fires rockets on Twitter or demands we continue to buy into the fantasy that in a world of doping cyclists he alone was clean and rode faster and stronger, he still quit on Thursday night.
By quitting, he let the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency say he was guilty, say his seven Tour de Francechampionships were as fake as everything else in a dirty sport. Because if he was innocent, if there was some means to battle the organization with no legal power the way he had the U.S. Department of Justice, he would not be letting USADA try to yank the yellow jerseys from his closet.
No way if there’s even a hint of hope does Lance Armstrong let this happen to his name. He was always too proud, too defiant, too stubborn to give up. He beat cancer. He beat the federal government. He beat everything that came his way. He didn’t relent.
If there was a fight to still fight, he would have fought it.
Now we’re burned by another fraud masquerading as a hero.
